Scarecrow Smiles and Rainy Surprises in Mellor 🌦️🌾

What a fantastic day we had at Mellor’s Scarecrow Festival this Sunday! Despite a dramatic change in weather halfway through, nothing could dampen the spirits of our brilliant community.
From the moment things kicked off, the village was bustling with families and friends eager to explore the scarecrow displays dotted around. There were some truly creative and hilarious entries! But huge congratulations go to The Millstone, whose fabulous scarecrow took home the prize for Best in Show!
The café was open, offering a cosy spot to relax with a cuppa before heading back out to admire more scarecrows. And then... came the rain! Buckets of it! But in true Mellor style, visitors carried on - some with umbrellas, some completely soaked, and some turning the trail into a car tour! We even found ourselves handing out towels to a few soggy little ones (who took it all in good humour!).
A massive thank you to everyone who took part, created scarecrows, visited, or helped behind the scenes. Wet or dry, it was a day full of laughter, community spirit, and creativity.
